This limited edition is the first in a brand-new series selected and signed by distillery manager Stewart Bowman. The range features a selection of Arran Single Malts which showcase the diversity of their spirit and invite you to open, drink and enjoy their whisky rather than focus on ‘investment’ for financial gain or ‘collection’ of attractive packaging.
Edition 1 is named ‘Remnant Renegade’ and is a real snapshot into the world of Arran Single Malt over the years. The name Remnant Renegade comes from the casks that were specially vatted for this bottling. A selection of remnant casks that have been held over the years. Remnant casks contain a small amount of leftover whisky from another bottling and very often this liquid can be forgotten about, not enough to constitute a bottling of its own. This exciting vatting represents a true kaleidoscope of casks ranging from some as old as 1997 right up until more recent casks filled in 2017.
There is a variety of different types of casks in the mix, with the majority being ex-Sherry Hogsheads,ex-Sherry Butts and ex-Bourbon Barrels. The biggest concentration of the casks comes from 2010 – 2012 with a wonderful mix of ages either side.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Toffee apples, vanilla, cinnamon spice
Finish: Long & lingering with orange zest and fresh floral notes. Complex and rewarding
